I was in Gujarat in September 2018. I visited three places one a small town, a large township and a city.
Although having different demographics, one thing I found common to all. Cows and majestic bulls. Aimlessly moving around their precincts in search of fodder.
Enquiries revealed that these animals were abandoned as many of their owners could not afford to keep them after the cow slaughter ban.
Moving at will, yet restricted and deprived of regular feeding, they often can be seen attacking innocent bystanders and passers by. One even attacked a journalist whilst she was doing a story on them.
